About The Partner Visa Academy

ABOUT US

The Partner Visa Academy was founded in 2018 by Registered Migration Agent Emma Drynan. We help Australian couples lodge their own Partner Visa applications with confidence, using our experience to review every application before lodgement, so couples can be sure they've got it right.

OUR STORY

Why we built the Academy

Emma had spent over a decade running her Partner Visa agency, Freedom Migration, before launching the Academy. In that time, working one-on-one with couples every day, she'd noticed a problem she couldn't ignore.

Professional migration help was slipping out of reach for too many couples. Families with genuine relationships were being asked to navigate one of the most complex areas of immigration law on their own, often with nothing more than forum posts and outdated blog articles to guide them.

We didn't think that was good enough.

So in 2018, we launched the Academy, a different way of helping couples through the partner visa process. Initially, as part of Freedom Migration, and then in 2020 as its own separately registered business. Instead of taking over the application, we put couples in the driver's seat and use our experience to check their work. They prepare the application themselves with our guidance and tools, and our MARA-registered agents review every part of it before lodgement to make sure it's right.

Today, the Academy has supported more than 500 couples through their Partner Visa journey. They get the confidence of professional oversight without the cost of full representation, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing their application has been checked by an expert before it goes anywhere near the Department.

OUR APPROACH

What makes us different

The Biggest Difference

Only MARA registered agents, start to finish

From your first conversation to the final review of your application, you'll only ever deal with a MARA-Registered Migration Agent. No admin staff, no sales team, no unregistered consultants. The people you talk to are the people legally permitted, and qualified, to advise you on your partner visa.

Every application is reviewed before lodgement

Every application we support is reviewed by a Registered Migration Agent before lodgement, professional eyes on your case from the people who do this work every day.

You stay in control of your data

Your documents, your data, your control. You organise everything yourself and share it with us only when it's time for review. We're required to retain a copy for seven years under the MARA Code of Conduct.

Partner Visa specialists

Partner and family migration is all we do, not a side service alongside skilled visas, business visas or anything else. Every framework, template and review checklist has been built from real partner visa casework.

Held to professional standards

Even though our model is different to a traditional migration agency, we hold ourselves to the same MARA professional standards that govern our agents' migration work.

What couples say about us

A word of warning

Always verify your migration agent, including us

The Australian migration industry is full of people calling themselves "visa consultants," "migration specialists," or "visa coaches" who are not registered with MARA, not bound by any code of conduct, and not legally permitted to provide immigration assistance. Working with an unregistered provider puts your application and your relationship at serious risk.

Under Australian law, only a Registered Migration Agent or an Australian legal practitioner can give immigration assistance. Every Registered Migration Agent has a unique MARN, publicly verifiable through MARA.

Before you work with anyone on your partner visa, including us, we encourage you to do four simple checks:

  1. Check their MARN on the MARA register
Confirms they're legally permitted to assist you and bound by the MARA Code of Conduct. Search the MARA register→
  2. Match the photo on the MARA register
The register shows each agent's photo. On your first video call, check it matches the person you're speaking to. It's how you confirm the MARN belongs to them, not someone using it fraudulently.
  3. Check the business's ABN on ABN Lookup
Confirms the business is a real, registered Australian entity and shows you who legally operates it. ABN Lookup →
  4. Check independent reviews
Look for verified reviews on Google or another independent platform, not just testimonials on the business's own website.
