What is the Form 1221?
The never ending list of Partner Visa forms continues… Today we are talking about Form 1221.
This is an ‘Additional Personal Particulars’ Form. It’s a supplementary form required to support your Partner Visa.
Who needs to complete the Form 1221?
Any additional applicants over the age of 16 years applying with you, will need to complete this form.
You’ll find that this is quite a lengthy form and there’s a lot more information Immigration needs about the additional applicant. For example, it requires details of their employment history and education history.
The additional applicant doesn’t need to complete a separate Form 47SP, but will be required to also complete a Form 80.

It’s important this Form is uploaded to the Immi Account at the same time as all the other forms and when evidence is provided. This is to ensure a decision ready application and to avoid unnecessary delays.
Additional Criteria to be met by Dependent Applicants Over the Age of 18
Remember that there are certain criteria to be met by each applicant who is applying for a Partner Visa. If you have a dependent child who has turned 18 years old, there are strict criteria they must meet in order to also be eligible for a Partner Visa. In most cases, they must demonstrate that they are a full time student and financially dependent on you. This is some of the basic criteria only. If you do have a dependent who is aged 18 year of age or older, I would recommend seeking immigration advice to start with and having an assessment done around whether your child meets the secondary criteria for a Partner Visa. This is a really complex area of the law so if you’re thinking of applying for a Partner Visa with a dependent child aged 18 years or older, I would recommend having a Registered Migration Agent manage the application for you from start to finish.
