Why 2026 is the best time to start your Partner Visa preparation

You’ve probably heard me say it before, but there’s no better time than the present to get started with your Partner Visa. I see a higher level of scrutiny from the Department of Home Affairs year after year when it comes to Partner Visas.

In the last 12 months, we have seen a higher number of Partner Visas being lodged and more scrutiny around the four pillars of relationship and the genuineness of a relationship. Getting started now is going to give you more time to prepare your documents and evidence correctly – not rush to put things together at the last minute.

I’ve also seen longer processing times for poorly prepared Partner Visas and an increase in the number of RFIs for couples who either forget, or simply don’t know what documents and information they need to provide with their application.

Did some research on how much will it cost if we go with Migration agent with the above visa, and it is seriously expensive. So, it's not an option for us. Their resources are really helpful for putting together a complete partner visa application: the videos on the platform, the templates for structuring each document, and the personalised support they give by email and through the Facebook group have all been key. This is especially useful, because a lot of questions come up during the process, and it can be quite stressful and overwhelming. Having someone to turn to makes a real difference, and in my case that person has been Rofia and her team.

I've already submitted my partner visa application and I'm currently on a bridging visa, waiting for approval, which can take a while. But they keep supporting you after you've submitted, explaining what steps to follow while you wait. Highly recommended.
